1. Twenty Ways to Practice Sight Words
My students love the game, "Swat the word." Buy a new fly swatter and write the sight words on paper. When you say a word aloud, they have to hurry and swat it before someone else.
2. Think about your child's interests and make a game.
Here's a baseball game that I made for one of my students that I'm tutoring. Print the sight words on the back of the baseball cards. When they get a home run card, they get to pick three cards. Every card they get right, they get to keep. If they get a strike card, they have to put all of the cards back in the pile. Whoever has the most cards at the end of the game wins. **If you would like this file so you can change the words and add more, let me know and I can email it to you.
3. Create your own sight word worksheets.
4. BUY THIS AMAZING BOOK!!!
Seriously, just buy it now. My students loved doing these as a center.

| I ordered these cards here. You get 220 Dolch sight words for $25!! The back of these cards have the word and sentence to match the picture. I bought these because they are soo much cheaper. I just color them with colored pencils. |

| Are you drooling over these cards like I did? You can get them here. You can buy 59 cards for $23.95 or you can buy 306 words for $133.95. Ouch! That's a lot! My husband said, "No way." |
You can also make your own. I made these for one of my tutoring students. I made it in Publisher because I wanted to keep it. You could just draw pictures your own picture. I started it, but didn't finish the last two words. It takes forever!! That's why I liked just buying the pre-made ones.
Good luck teaching sight words!
