I love getting all of these new ideas! I love that I have a place to write them down so I don't forget and that I can share them with you.
Here's a couple of things that stood out today:
Behavior System for Older Grades: Each student had a red piece of paper with a behavior chart on it. The top of the page had the days of the week. Going down the chart, there were different behaviors, like shouting out, being disrespectful, etc. They leave this behavior chart on their desks all week. If they get four tally marks a day then they miss something. I didn't get the full details, but I'm sure they could miss some fun activities.
PE Game: It's called Car Lot. Pick three students to be it. They are considered the car lot police. The students decide on three makes/models of cars. They named things like: Ferrari, taco truck, and slug bug. Each student picks which one they want to be. Then they whisper to their neighbor what they want to be so they can't all of a sudden switch which car they are. The three students who are it go to the middle of the gym. They talk to each other and decide which car they want to yell out. Then they yell out which car they picked. The other kids who decided to be that car have to run from one end of the gym to the other without being tagged. If the kids who are it, yell out, "Car Lot!" Then everyone has to run. If a student gets tagged, they need to go back to the stairs or side of the gym.
Explanation of tagging: I liked how this school explained their tagging rules. They can only tag from the shoulders to waist, but ONLY on the back. Arms are okay too.
