A Loving Teacher

Yesterday, I subbed for a teacher that was on my team.  There were a couple of things, just like in every classroom that I go into, that I'm impressed with and want to remember.

  1. She LOVES her students.  Her kids are very sweet and there is a feeling of love in her classroom.  I think I got more hugs in her classroom than in any other classroom that I've subbed.
  2. I loved how she posts the objectives on the board each day.  I know that she has worked hard typing them all up for each lesson.  I really liked how she has some fill in the blank objectives, for example: "I will spell words with the ____ sound."
  3. I liked that one of her centers was to look at winter books.  She replaces the books for each holiday or season.
  4. She had her kids practice their spelling words with triangle spelling.  She had them draw a right isosceles triangle and then they wrote the word one letter at a time.

She's a great teacher and it was fun subbing for her.

*Watching her kids practice their spelling words reminded me of when my team and I typed up our own ways for our students to study their spelling words for homework.   Here it is.
